The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
You then, must be willing to admit that you are a sinner and in need of forgiveness.
You must know that sin has separated you from the God who loves you most.
You must know that sin, having separated you, brings with it a penalty, Romans 6:23 says, "The wages (payment) of sin is death..." Know that it is not necessary that you pay this payment because the rest of that verse says, "but the gift of God is eternal life..."
Now that you know that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness, and that sin has separated you from God, and that God has the gift of eternal life for you, then what should you do? This is what you do: Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"
You then must pray and ask God to forgive you and ask Jesus Christ into your heart to be your Savior, Forgiver, and Guide. He will do so immediately. And you will have God's unchanging promise of eternal life Now, find a Bible preaching church close by and ask to be baptized and become a member. Love and serve God all the days of your life.
