AWANA

Awana is a nondenominational approach to learning the Bible through Scripture memory, Bible Study, games, and awards.

The acronym for AWANA comes from II Timothy 2:15 and stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. AWANA’s goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. It is based on 2 Timothy 2:15 and the purpose of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. It also engages ministry to children and their families.

We at East McComb have 5 Awana Clubs.

1) Cubbies Club (Three and Four year olds)

2) Sparks Club (Kindergarten)
3) Sparks Club (First and Second grades)

4) Third and Fourth Grade T&T Club (T&T = Truth and Training)
5) Fifth and Sixth Grade T&T Club (T&T = Truth and Training)

Each club wears uniforms and earns their different awards. Awana is held August through April with our Year End Celebration held the first Wed. night of May. This year, club begins each Wednesday night as we check in at the Education Building North Entrance and go straight to our club rooms at 5:30 pm. Each club will rotate to Handbook Time, Council Time including flag ceremony, and snack time from 5:30 to 7:20 pm in the
same building. Sometimes we even have PIZZA!
